1) The grass didn't come in very well, but, we gave it our best shot.
2) Dog Park is re-opening on Tuesday, June 8th.
3) Donations still being accepted via Paypal button at bottom of page here...just a few volunteers bought most of the seed on their own. Please share the responsibility.
4) Volunteers noted many dug holes and poop piles in the park. Remember that it is up to dog park users to watch their dogs, clean up after them, and not let them do any destructive digging. If users choose not to do this, the city has the right to close down the dog park due to unsanitary conditions.
5) Get on out to the park, spend social time with your dogs and fellow dog owners, and have fun! Remember to bring water with on these summer days!

Dog Park Temporarily CLOSED!
Well, we got the field tilled up, added lime to the soil, and seeded a pasture mix. We locked the gates and put up signs to prevent dog park use for a month...but first, we e-mailed the city, the Dog Park Facebook Group, and posted a notice on Craigslist to let everyone know our plans. If you didn't receive any of these messages and went to the dog park to find it locked, we apologize! Please spread the news by word-of-mouth that it is closed through at least June 9th, 2010 to let the grass grow in.

Our Dog Park Needs GRASS!
Springtime is well on it's way, and the main complaint we hear from dog park users is about the "stickers" that get stuck in dog paws. We will need a volunteer effort to be able to get the dog park seeded with grass as quickly and efficiently as possible. We have coordinated a volunteer willing to donate labor with their small tractor and tiller, but we need to raise money for gasoline, grass seed, and lime. We estimate the cost to be about $150-$200. If each of our 134 members on Facebook donates just $1.50, we will be able to purchase the materials needed to get this job done! You can help the effort by donating with Paypal at the bottom of the screen, or by dropping a donation off at Cafe Caffeine in Cambridge. Thanks for your support - let's make our dog park the best it can be!
